Description

Cadiz Cathedral was built with money that flowed into the city from the Spanish colonies in the Americas. It took more than a century to build, which accounts for the various styles that can be seen in its design. You can learn more about its history at the fascinating Cathedral Museum, which stands on the site of the old Roman amphitheatre. It even features a recovered medieval street. To really get a good view of the city, there’s nowhere better than Torre Tavira, an old 18th-century watch tower, which today houses a camera obscura, which will let you enjoy spectacular views over Cadiz’s rooftops.
