Description

Check in at our office, join a one-hour walking tour through the narrow streets of Madrid's historic centre and discover iconic sights not to be missed. Enjoy the Plaza de la Villa, the famous Plaza Mayor, Puerta del Sol and Plaza de Oriente. Then hop aboard one of our air-conditioned buses for a ride through the city - remember to bring your camera or smartphone!

Depart from the Plaza de Oriente towards the magnificent Puerta de Toledo, did you know that its construction dates back to the Napoleonic occupation era? Back on the bus you will see the oldest bridge in Madrid and, next to the Manzanares River, you will have spectacular views of the Royal Palace and the Almudena Cathedral. We'll cross Calle Mayor towards Puerta del Sol and Las Cortes on our way to Paseo del Prado. Admire the architecture of the heart of old Madrid arriving at the Barrio de las Letras.

Among the various sights you will see on board the bus are the Cibeles fountain, where Real Madrid fans celebrate their team's victories, and the Puerta de Alcalá, the most famous of the old five gates that gave access to Madrid. We will finish the tour by seeing the Santiago Bernabeu Stadium, the Paseo de la Castellana and the Plaza de Colon.

But no visit to Madrid would be complete without a visit to the Royal Palace. Therefore, a local guide will take you and your group to the palace and you will visit the palace together. Skip the queues and immerse yourself in the history of this beautiful place. Did you know that it is twice the size of Buckingham Palace? Built in Italian Baroque style, it was the former residence of the Spanish Monarchy from 1766 to 1931. Today, it is still a great example of the establishment of Madrid as the capital of the kingdom.

Nowadays, it is the venue for the most important receptions of the Royal Crown. Find out what audiences, gala dinners and agreement signings have been held here over the years. Stroll around the Plaza de Armas. Marvel at the impressive tapestries and rooms decorated with elegant antique furniture. Follow your guide through the Grand Staircase, the Throne Room and the Gala Dining Room, among others.

After the guided tour, you can visit the Royal Armoury on your own - make sure you don't miss the views from the viewing platform in the Plaza de Armas!
